Remote controlled IP radio exchange

The radio exchange is intended to replace the existing RU-6 radio exchanges and other similar devices when switching to a remote control system. It contains a power low-frequency amplifier 300 W 100 V, control circuits for its control and supervision, VoIP circuits for supplying the input low-frequency signal in digital form. In addition to the standard function of the NF amplifier, it contains the functions required for remote operation and monitoring of operating conditions.

Radio control panel

The basic input of the low-frequency signal is an Ethernet interface with VoIP protocol with the possibility of simultaneous operation of two independent channels. The first channel is intended for connection to the centralized reporting system, the second channel for local or remote access using a VoIP phone.  Another way to connect a low frequency signal is a line input and a microphone input.

The parameter settings

All analog parameter settings (volume, treble, bass, input levels and their priorities) are made digitally. Checking the current status, control and configuration is possible using a web browser. Current operating states and information from the internal self-diagnostics can be transferred to the superior monitoring system using the SNMP protocol and the operating history can be recorded using the SYSLOG protocol. The internal real-time clock can be synchronized using the NTP protocol.

The main advantages of using an IP radio exchange

  • Fully remote-controlled and traceable radio control panel with an output power of up to 100 V distribution 300 W for the version with 230 V AC supply and 150 W for the version with 48 V DC supply
  • Integrated VoIP input for direct connection to digital infrastructure
  • 6 output loops with separate indication of the completed message
  • Communication and control using standard protocols (HTML, SNMP, NTP, SYSLOG)
  • Possibility of direct connection with the system of automatic reports

Basic technical description

The radio control panel is built into a cabinet designed for mounting in a 19 “rack, 3U high and 40 cm deep. Weight is 18 kg.

Front panel

There are two Ethernet connectors on the front panel (one for connection to the system, the other for connection of a service technician), as well as an indication LED showing the current status of output lines and own radio exchanges and an alphanumeric LCD display showing details of the current  condition. There are also connectors on the front panel for connecting analog recording, line input and microphone input.

Back panel

On the rear panel there is a EURO plug for connecting 230 V power supply and connectors for connecting output lines. Cooling is forced by fans, coolers are located inside the cabinet of the radio exchange.

Normal operation of the radio exchange

Normal operation is assumed in the automatic reporting system, where it is not necessary to use an external computer with a sound card compared to existing devices.

Local and remote VoIP reporting over a computer network

Other options are local or remote reporting via a standard VoIP network with adjustable priority. For these two uses, there are two independent VoIP inputs in the control panel.

Analog inputs

It is also possible to connect the input signal to a line or microphone input. The inputs have an adjustable priority.

Automatic switching between day and night mode

The NTP-synchronizable real-time circuit from the network allows, among other things, automatic control of day and night mode switching.

Checking the report

To check the report, the current flowing through the line is measured in each of the six output lines. The output circuits consisting of the output transformer, the relays switching the output lines and the output current sensors are galvanically separated by a 4 kV insulation barrier.
