RadioVoice RV3 block of a remote controlled radio station

The RV3 block of the radio station is a part of the Radiovoice 3 system, which enables remote control of base radio stations in a TCP / IP environment. It contains one or two radios, a power supply for 230 V AC or 48 V DC, control circuits and VoIP converters. Configuration is performed on internal websites or remotely using the SNMP protocol. It is also possible to program radio parameters remotely. Monitoring of operating parameters includes measurement of supply voltages, received signal levels and levels (RSSI) and optionally output power, antenna adaptation and receiver function test. Power is available from 230 V AC or 48 V DC with the option to connect your own 12 V backup battery.

The main advantages of the radio station block for the RV3 dispatching system

  • Remote controlled one or two radio stations for the VHF or UHF band
  • Complete remote monitoring, monitoring of operating parameters, remote control and programming of radio stations
  • Easy installation and maintenance
  • Communication and control using standard protocols (HTML, SNMP, NTP, SYSLOG, XML)

Basic technical description

The radio block is built into a cabinet designed for mounting in a 19 “rack, 3U high and 40 cm deep (without connectors), the weight of the block is 11 kg.

Front panel

There are two Ethernet connectors ETH1 and ETH2 on the front panel (one for connection to the system and the other for connection of a service technician), indication LED showing the current status, LCD display showing details  and two buttons for local control of the optional backup battery disconnector. There are also two N connectors on the front panel for connecting antennas and four RJ45 connectors for connecting local control and local analog recording.

Back panel

There are connectors on the rear panel for connecting a 230 V or 48 V power supply and for connecting an optional backup battery.

Basic functions of a radio station block

The basic function of the RDST block is a remote control base station with control and voice transmission in a TCP / IP environment. To this end, the block contains a control computer providing its own control, creation of configuration and control web pages and communication with the environment using protocols HTML (web pages), SNMP (monitoring and remote control from the monitoring system), NTP (real-time clock synchronization) and SYSLOG (storage operating history). Radio stations can be controlled both from the RadioVoice system and directly from the block’s website. Voice transmission is realized by SIP protocol.
