Universal surveillance equipment (UDZ) is designed to monitor operating conditions in telecommunications technologies and their remote control. It enables temperature measurement at several places in telecommunication switchboards (1-3 external sensors, 1 internal sensor in UDZ), monitoring of 16 logic inputs with adjustable sensitivity to 5 V, 12 V, 24 V or 48 V, switching of 16 logic outputs by means of switching
relay. Checking the current status and configuration of the device is possible using a web browser. The status of inputs and outputs can be transmitted to the control center via SNMP. The goal of the UDZ deployment is its integration into the superior SUPERVISION SYSTEM and the simplification of remote diagnostics of telecommunication equipment faults.
Advantages of using UDZ – universal surveillance equipment
- Electronic remote monitoring system designed to monitor conditions within telecommunications technologies
- 16 logic inputs, 16 logic outputs, internal and external thermocouples
- Communication and control using standard protocols (HTML, SNMP, NTP, SYSLOG)
- Possibility of easy integration into central surveillance systems
Basic technical description of the product
UDZ is built into a cabinet designed for mounting in a 19 “rack, 2U high and 35 cm deep. Weight is 5.5 kg. There are two Ethernet connectors on the front panel (one for connecting to the system, the other for connecting a service technician), an indication LED showing the current status of inputs, outputs and the UDZ itself and an alphanumeric LCD display showing details of the current UDZ status.
Front panel
On the front panel there is a fuse box for the UDZ power fuse. On the rear panel there is a EURO plug for 230 V power supply connection and a connector for optional 48 V DC power supply connection, 16 connectors for logic inputs, 16 connectors for logic outputs and 3 connectors for external thermocouples.
Power supply
The UDZ is designed for power supply from a backup 230 V AC source, as an option it is possible to replace the internal switching power supply with a DC-DC converter for an input voltage of 48 V (36–72 V) DC. The power consumption of the entire UDZ does not exceed 50 W. It is typically about 20 W (applies to both 230 V AC and 48 V DC).
Logic inputs
The logic inputs are designed for sensing the voltage states of external devices and are galvanically separated by optocouplers both towards the UDZ and from each other. The sensitivity can be set in UDZ using short-circuit jumpers to 5 V, 12 V, 24 V or 48 V.
Logic outputs
The logic outputs are implemented using switching relays. The maximum switching current is given by the used ones
relay. The maximum current is 6 A for the 230 V AC version and 4 A for the 48 V version. External contactors can be used if higher currents are required.
External thermocouple
External thermocouples are designed for temperature monitoring in the telecommunication switchboard in which the UDZ is located
mounted. The resolution of the thermocouples is programmatically limited to 1 ° C and the absolute accuracy is 2 ° C.
